Tidal Law LLP is a growing Alberta law firm with offices in Calgary and Edmonton. We are seeking a Commercial Associate Lawyer with two to three years of relevant experience to join our Calgary office. Corporate law experience will be considered an asset. This is an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with clients, and develop a broad corporate and commercial practice with the support and mentorship of experienced lawyers. *The Role* The successful candidate will manage a varied commercial practice, handling routine matters independently. The position offers significant client contact and the opportunity to participate in every stage of a matter, from initial strategy through negotiation and closing. *Responsibilities* * Advising clients on commercial leasing, financing, security, and related business matters * Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements * Assisting with share purchases, asset purchases, business acquisitions, and dispositions * Preparing letters of intent, conducting due diligence, drafting transaction documents, and coordinating commercial closings * Identifying legal and commercial risks and providing practical, business focused recommendations * Managing files, deadlines, client expectations, and billing responsibilities * Working collaboratively with the firm?s real estate, construction, and litigation lawyers when matters involve overlapping issues * Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referral sources, and other professionals * Participating in the firm?s business development and community initiatives *Qualifications* * An LLB or JD from a recognized law school * Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta * Two to three years of experience practising commercial law * Corporate law experience will be considered an asset *Why Join Tidal Law* * Competitive compensation with a performance based bonus opportunity * Direct access to clients and meaningful responsibility over files * A diverse and engaging commercial practice * Opportunities to build an individual practice and professional profile * A collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment * A clear opportunity for professional advancement as the firm continues to grow We thank all applicants for their interest.
