*Position Summary:* The Part-Time Bookkeeper provides essential bookkeeping and financial data entry support to the operation of Heron Management and Inner Harbour Marine Services. This role primarily focuses on accounts payable (AP) but also supports accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and other general bookkeeping tasks. The ideal candidate will be proficient in accounting software, particularly Sage 50 Canadian Edition and will assist the lead bookkeeper in maintaining accurate financial records. *Duties: * 1. Accurately input and post vendor and supplier invoices into Sage accounting software. 2. Ensure expenses are allocated to the correct accounts or projects. 3. Assist with the processing and reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable. 4. Support payroll processing, including data entry and report preparation. 5. Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger entries as needed. 6. Prepare and maintain financial reports under the direction of the lead bookkeeper. 7. Sort, process, and verify receipts, expenditures, and other financial documents. 8. Complete and submit government remittance forms, such as tax remittances and workers' compensation submissions, as needed. 9. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records. 10. Provide occasional clerical support, such as filing and data organization. 11. Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as assigned by the lead bookkeeper or management. *Working Conditions:* 1. Flexible part-time schedule, typically 2-3 days per week, with potential for additional hours during peak periods. 2. Work is performed in a typical small office environment with moderate exposure to conversational noise. 3. Minimal travel may be required between office locations or to external vendors. *Employment Requirements:* 1. High school diploma required, post-secondary education in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field preferred. 2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role. 3. Proficiency in Sage 50 Canadian Edition or Quicken is essential. 4. Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. 5. Strong organizational and time-management skills. 6. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. 8.
