This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through the Archibus Inventory Control Program and supporting warehouse operations associated with surplus government assets. Key responsibilities include conducting physical asset inspections, receiving and handling surplus materials, managing storage and inventory control processes, facilitating asset reuse and recycling efforts, and coordinating the disposal of surplus assets in compliance with the Surplus Disposal Act. Disposal methods include auctions, public tenders, transfers to schools and non-profit organizations, recycling programs, and scrap waste disposal.Primary AccountabilitiesThe primary accountabilities of this role are to maintain an efficient, well-organized, and cost-effective parts and supplies inventory operation that supports the needs of internal clients. Responsibilities include:Creating and issuing purchase orders to suppliers using established procurement and inventory management systems.Purchasing parts and supplies using existing standing offers while considering best-value procurement strategies and maintaining accurate electronic purchasing records.Strategically consolidating goods requests from multiple requestors and work assignments to reduce administrative costs and support a more competitive and efficient quoting process.Receiving goods by verifying order accuracy, updating inventory records, and placing items in the appropriate stockroom locations.Coordinating and receiving goods at active construction sites when required, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory tracking.Picking materials and preparing material packages for projects and work activities based on schedules, work orders, and inventory system requirements.Maintaining detailed electronic and/or manual sign-out records and coordinating the movement of tools and equipment used by trades to minimize losses and maintain accountability.Primary Accountabilities ContinuedProactively analyzing purchasing and inventory data, identifying trends, and making recommendations regarding stock levels based on current and anticipated operational needs.Ensuring all parts and supplies issued from inventory are accurately recorded and charged to the appropriate work order through inventory management systems.Ensuring stock items, including critical safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), are in good working condition, with obsolete, damaged, or surplus inventory appropriately returned, declared surplus, or disposed of.Maintaining current parts information, product catalogues, and related electronic inventory reference materials.Supervising and/or conducting annual and cycle count inventory activities, including inventory reconciliation and maintaining inventory accuracy within computerized systems.Providing operational coverage during the absence of other Supply Technicians.Qualifications and ExperienceAs the ideal candidate, you will require high school completion plus post?secondary training related to the position and 5 years of related experience in a buyer position; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.The following are considered an asset:A professional designation/certificate in the supply chain field such as CSCMP, SCMP, SMT, P.Log, CCLP or PSPP, PMP.Knowledge of construction materials, plus related work experience in sourcing/buying construction materials.Experience with the identification, inventory Location Dartmouth , NS Work location On site Salary $ 17.50 to $ 36.06 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source CareerBeacon #2237173 Various locations Dartmouth, NS
