Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Tasks: Hire, supervise and schedule staff. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Plan and estimate labour and materials. Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work. Maintain work records and logs. Tender and administer contracts. Read blueprints and drawings. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Establish work schedules and procedures. Supervision: 5-10 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Chain saw. Small engine equipment. Sod cutter. Tractor mower. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads.
