Our team members value and embrace different perspectives and new ideas. *About the Role* The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining common and public areas of Canada Royal Milk (CRM). Part of this role includes the collection, specialized cleaning and management of uniforms for employees in Production, Engineering and Warehouse areas. The Janitor will be responsible for safe chemical handling and storage as well as stocking and maintaining all janitorial equipment and supplies. During the winter months, snow and ice removal from employee entrances and walkways will be required. *What We Offer* The opportunity to build and grow a progressive company, competitive wages, and extended health benefits. *What We Look For* Curiosity, commitment to learning, and a winning mindset. *Job Requirements* Education: High school diploma or GED required Experience: One year of experience preferred, ability to use tools and equipment and ability to perform the physical aspects of the job Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have strong English language skills. The ability to read and understand written English and communicate in English both spoken and in writing is a requirement of the job. *Key Duties and Responsibilities* Clean and maintain office areas, meeting rooms, hallways, washrooms, dining/lunchroom, common areas, locker-rooms and other non-production areas in the plant * Wipe and sanitize all contact surfaces such as public phones and door handles * Vacuum carpets and upholstery around assigned facility * Litter Picking outside of entrances and parking lots * Monitor staff and public washrooms to ensure cleanliness and sufficiently stocked supplies * Clean and polish chrome and other metal surfaces * Spot clean walls, partitions, light switches and windowsills * Remove garbage and recycling to designated areas daily * Collect, sort and launder uniforms for Production, Engineering and Warehouse according to uniform specific guidelines * Launder and prepare uniforms for delivery to assigned locker rooms * Removing snow from entrances and sidewalks * Stock and maintain cleanliness and organization of all supply rooms * Read, understand and adhere to all chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for proper, safe handling and storage * Clean, sanitize and maintain equipment; may make minor maintenance repairs or notify supervisor concerning repairs required * Identify, recommend and implement equipment and process improvements * Perform regular daily routines with little or no direct supervision * Complete all required documentation using good documentation practices * Maintain a safe and secure work environment by complying with company policies and procedures including GMP, HACCP and safe working procedures * Perform other duties as required *Working Conditions* Canada Royal Milk is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation. Rotating shift work (8-12h shifts) is required. Shift patterns are yet to be determined and will include days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and over-night work. Employees must be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts. As a dairy processor and infant formula manufacturer, CRM strives to exceed regulatory requirements for food safety, quality, hygiene, and good manufacturing practices. All employees who enter the processing areas for any reason must comply with all food safety protocols in addition to health and safety best practices.
