Mon Pitou Bistro & Bakery is hiring a Back-of-House Operation Associate to join our team in Vancouver. This role emphasizes sandwich-making and baking activities. Responsibilities: *Key Responsibilities* *Sanitation, Cleaning & Kitchen Support (approximately 60%)* * Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all back of house areas * Complete daily cleaning tasks and scheduled deep cleaning duties * Wash dishes, utensils, smallwares, cookware, and equipment as needed * Support overall dishwashing operations to ensure smooth kitchen flow * Clean and sanitize workstations, food contact surfaces, storage areas, and sinks * Set up and break down stations before and after service * Handle garbage, recycling, and compost according to workplace procedures * Ensure adherence to sanitation standards, food safety procedures, and cleaning protocols * Help maintain a safe, orderly, and service-ready kitchen environment at all times * *Food Production, Prep & Receiving (approximately 40%)* * Prepare, bake, and cook menu items as directed * Execute sandwich orders efficiently during peak lunch hours * Complete morning bake-off for fresh pastries * Prepare catering orders accurately and on time * Prepare meals and meal kits, including vacuum sealing, labeling, and packaging * Assemble retail and grab-and-go products such as salad bowls, and similar items * Prepare ingredients according to recipes, portioning standards, and production needs * Receive deliveries with careful inspection for quality, quantity, and accuracy (FIFO) * Store products properly and rotate inventory according to food safety standards * *Qualifications & Requirements* * Available to work *Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (+Thursday if available)* * Flexibility to cover additional shifts when needed is an asset * *FoodSafe Level 1 certification is mandatory* * Minimum *12 months of kitchen experience* required, cooking or prep cook. * Minimum *6 months of baking experience* preferred * Must be *familiar* with kitchen equipment and safe operating practices * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality * Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment * Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently * Legally authorized to work in Canada *Preferred Attributes* * Strong work ethic and *positive team attitude* * Comfortable performing physically demanding cleaning and kitchen support tasks * Able to follow recipes, procedures, and operational standards consistently * Takes initiative and helps maintain a high standard of cleanliness and readiness across the kitchen * *Employee Perks included!* * Staff meal onsite * Unlimited coffee * Store discount * Tips distribution * Work/life balance * Standardized schedule Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour Benefits: * Casual dress * Discounted or free food * Store discount Ability to commute/relocate: * Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Work Location: In person Location Vancouver , BC Work location On site Salary $ 19.00 to $ 21.00 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Permanent employment Part time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10230669194 Various locations Vancouver, BC
