Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Welding technology/welder. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Confined spaces. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Manufacture. Urban area. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification. Type of materials: Plasma coatings. Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Submerged arc welding (SAW). Spool. Multipass. Equipment and machinery experience: Gas welding machine. Soldering machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Truck repair. Factory assembly. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools.
