poultry farm worker

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Broiler and other meat-type chicken production. Chicken farming. Outdoors. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Wet/damp. Dirty. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses. Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Feed and tend animals. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Maintain work records and logs. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Perform general farm duties. Write daily basic progress reports. Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops. Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system. Automated systems experience: Bulk grain or feed handling - automated. Automated environmental control equipment. Manure handling and storage.
