heavy-duty equipment mechanic apprentice

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Order parts and maintain inventory. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Service attachments and working tools. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Travel expenses paid by employer. Public transportation is not available.
