We are seeking a part time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant for 2-4 days (up to 30 hours) per week with flexible days, but only from Monday - Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with expertise in bookkeeping & year-end preparation. General recurring duties and responsibilities: You will be involved in the day-to-day bookkeeping for numerous clients, corporate year-end file work, payroll with several administration duties. - Record client business transactions using Caseware, Sage, QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks online - Prepare journal entries, reconcile bank & credit card account statements. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GST & PST returns. - Perform payroll functions including CRA remittances, T4 & T4A slips, WCB reporting. - Keeping track of due dates and general duties within the office. - Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients. - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Qualifications: - At least 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience preferably in public practice setting. - Fluent in English (speaking/writing). Fluent in Punjabi will be an asset.
