*Cavendish Manor Retirement Residence* is seeking a dependable, hands-on *Full-Time Maintenance Worker* to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and physical operations of our retirement residence. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff while supporting compliance with the Retirement Homes Act, RHRA requirements, fire safety regulations, and occupational health and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a senior living environment. *Duties & Responsibilities* * Perform general building maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, and basic HVAC troubleshooting. * Complete preventative maintenance for building systems, equipment, resident suites, and common areas. * Conduct and maintain required maintenance logs, fire safety testing, emergency lighting inspections, water temperature monitoring, and other regulatory documentation. * Support compliance with RHRA requirements, Ontario Fire Code, OHSA, public health requirements, and life safety standards. * Coordinate external contractors for specialized repairs, landscaping, snow removal, and required inspections. * Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility emergencies. * Maintain maintenance supplies, inventory, and departmental records. * Identify repairs and improvements required throughout the residence. * Support capital improvement and renovation projects as required. * Participate in occasional after-hours/on-call emergency response. *Qualifications & Requirements* * Minimum *3?5 years of building maintenance experience*, preferably in retirement living, long-term care, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial facilities. * Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems. * Familiarity with Ontario Fire Code, OHSA, and retirement residence requirements is considered a strong asset. * Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative. * Professional and respectful approach when interacting with seniors, families, staff, and contractors. * Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check and meet applicable employment requirements. * Valid Ontario driver's licence is considered an asset. *What We Offer* * A warm, welcoming, and rewarding work environment. * Flexible part-time scheduling. * Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience. *About Us* At Cavendish Manor, we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional quality of life and comfort for our residents.
