*Position Summary* The Manufacturing Technician performs manufacturing and mechanical assembly work in support of Nordic Minesteel Technologies? production operations. The position is responsible for preparing, positioning, fitting, assembling and verifying components and subassemblies in accordance with drawings, specifications, work instructions and established quality requirements. The manufacturing Technician operates a variety of shop, material handling and assembly equipment when appropriately trained, competent and authorized, and works closely with Operations, Welding/Fabrication, Quality and other departments to support safe, efficient and timely completion of projects. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in the recruitment process. *Responsibilities* - Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, parts lists, assembly instructions and other applicable production documentation. - Prepare work by reviewing job requirements and gather the required parts, subassemblies, tools, equipment and materials. - Position, align, fit and assemble components and subassemblies manually or with the use of overhead cranes, hoists and other approved material handling equipment. - Perform mechanical assembly activities, which may include bolted assemblies, installation or alignment of components, shafts, bearings, guards and other mechanical components as applicable to the project. - Measure, verify and inspect components and completed assemblies to confirm conformance with drawings, specifications and established quality requirements. - Assist with component preparation, drilling, cutting, cleaning, deburring, grinding and other manufacturing activities required to complete assigned work. - Support the movement, staging and organization of materials, components and finished assemblies throughout the manufacturing process. - Perform all duties in accordance with NMT health and safety policies, procedures, safe work practices and applicable legislative requirements. - Conduct in-process checks and verify completed components and assemblies using appropriate measuring and inspection equipment. - Confirm correct fit, alignment, fastening and assembly of components before work proceeds to the next stage. *Qualifications* - Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, industrial production or a related environment is preferred. - Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, parts list and assembly instructions. - Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment. - Experience operating manufacturing and material-handling equipment and manufacturing processes. - Forklift and overhead crane or certification is considered an asset. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as par of a manufacturing team. *Physical requirements* Perform physically demanding work throughout the shift, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, pushing and pulling. - Lift and carry materials, tools and equipment consistent with safe material-handling practices. - Work around large components, machinery, lifting equipment and active welding/fabrication operations. - Safely operate hand and power tools and perform repetitive assembly and manufacturing activities. *Working Conditions* - Industrial manufacturing, welding and fabrication shop environment. - Regular exposure to noise, welding activities, dust, metal working processes, moving equipment and other conditions typical of a manufacturing facility. - May be required to perform Work at heights, including from approved ladders, platforms, scaffolding or other elevated work areas, while using required fall protection and following established safe work procedures. - Availability for both day and night shift is required, d Location North Bay , ON Work location On site Salary $ 20.00 to $ 28.00 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10228624609 Various locations North Bay, ON
