*Position Summary* The General Labourer ? Manufacturing provides hands-on support to Nordic Minesteel Technologies? welding, fabrication and general manufacturing operations. The position assists skilled trades and production personnel with material preparation, grinding, cleaning, material handling, equipment operation, housekeeping and other activities required to support safe and efficient shop operations. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in the recruitment process. *Responsibilities* - Assist welders, fitter/welders, fabricators and other production personnel with daily manufacturing activities. - Grind, clean, deburr and prepare parts and materials for fitting, welding, assembly or subsequent manufacturing operations. - Assist with the movement, staging, positioning and organization of material components and finished products. - Assist with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries as required. - Operate saws, ironworkers, radial drills, magnetic drills, grinders and other shop equipment when trained, competent and authorized to do so. - Assist with general shop clean-up, housekeeping and minor maintenance activities. - Assist with general yard organization, clean-up and maintenance. - Remove debris and maintain outdoor work and storage areas in a safe and orderly condition. - Perform all duties in accordance with NMT health and safety policies, procedures, safe work practices and applicable legislative requirements *Qualifications* - Previous experience in manufacturing, welding/fabrication, construction, warehouse or general labour environment is considered an asset. - Experience using grinders, hand tools, power tools or basic fabrication equipment is considered an asset. - Forklift, overhead crane, or other material-handling experience is considered an asset. - Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. - Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and good housekeeping. *Physical requirements and Working Conditions* - Perform physically demanding work throughout the shift. - Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and perform repetitive movements. - Lift and carry materials, tools and equipment consistent with safe material-handling practices. - Safely operate hand and power tools. - Work in and around welding and fabrication operations. - Perform outdoor duties in varying weather conditions when required. - Primarily based in an Industrial welding and fabrication shop environment. - Regular exposure to noise, welding activities, dust, metal working processes, moving equipment and other conditions typical of a manufacturing facility. - May occasionally be required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow and ice. - Required PPE must be worn as designated for the work area and task. - Availability for either Day or Night Shift is required, depending on the position assigned. - Day shift: 06:00 a.m. to 03:30 p.m. - Night Shift: 03:30 p.m. to 02:00 a.m. (Monday to Thursday) Night Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour Benefits: * Dental care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Paid time off * RRSP match * Vision care Work Location: In person Location North Bay , ON Work location On site Salary $ 19.00 to $ 24.00 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10228503590 Various locations North Bay, ON
