*Full-Time Bookkeeper* *Bedford, Nova Scotia | In-Person Position* We are a well-established, busy optometry practice in Bedford seeking an experienced and highly organized *Full-Time Bookkeeper* to join our team. This is a varied and trusted position responsible for maintaining the financial records of our optometry clinic, the doctors? professional companies, and several related investment holding companies. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple entities, working independently, and ensuring financial information is accurate, complete, and up to date. *Key Responsibilities* * Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple related companies using *Sage accounting software* * Record and categorize financial transactions * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable * Complete bank and credit card reconciliations * Process or assist with payroll and related remittances * Prepare and file HST returns and other routine government remittances * Maintain intercompany and shareholder account records * Assist with cash-flow tracking and financial reporting * Prepare monthly or periodic financial information for management * Organize supporting documentation and maintain orderly electronic records * Work with the practice?s external accountants to support year-end financial statement and tax preparation * Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly * Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial and personal information *Qualifications* * Several years of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience * *Proficiency with Sage accounting software is required* * Experience maintaining the books and records of multiple companies or related entities * Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, reconciliations, payroll, and government remittances * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to manage competing deadlines and work with minimal supervision * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * A high level of discretion, reliability, and professional judgment * Experience in a medical, dental, optometry, or other professional practice would be an asset, but is not required *What We Offer* * Competitive annual salary of *$55,000?$65,000*, based on experience * *Three weeks of paid vacation* * *Medical and dental benefits* * Full-time, stable employment * Consistent daytime schedule * A professional and supportive work environment * Interesting and varied work across several related companies * A trusted role with direct access to decision-makers This is an *in-person position located in Bedford, Nova Scotia*.
