*Job Overview* *Waypoints provides group care and support services for young people and families. We are currently hiring for the positions of:* *PROGRAM COORDINATOR* *Internal/External Posting* *2 positions* *These are permanent positions.* *The program coordinator reports to the Director of Group Care and Support Services and Executive Director and is responsible for the overall operation and management of the programs.* *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* Leads the development of the therapeutic programs and intervention plans; Supervision of employees; Liaises with the Department of Social Supports and Well Being and other community agencies; Manages the overall budget of the program as well as property management; Develops and implements strategic planning activities for the organization; Carries out all duties in adherence to the principles of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, utilizing a child-centered and family-focused approach. *EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Completion of a Bachelor?s Degree in Social Science, preferably in the area of child and youth care. Minimum of 5 years? experience working in the field of child and youth care. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:* Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of issues related to child maltreatment, family systems, patterns of harmful behavior, and the long- and short-term impacts of trauma on human development. Demonstrated understanding of professional child and youth care practice. In-depth knowledge of child adolescent development, trauma and family dynamics. Demonstrated supervisory, leadership and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A strong attendance record. Ability to adapt to various social and interpersonal situations and develop creative and flexible responses. Ability to evaluate self. Must be willing to become certified as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner. *These skills would normally be obtained through extensive front-line and supervisory experience.
