Who You AreExperience in assessment of clients with mental health and substance use concernsDirect service experience in delivery of mental health servicesAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityWorking knowledge of Mental Health Act and related legislation, mental health assessments, general counselling principles and interview techniques, crisis intervention, concurrent disorders, motivational interviewing, de-escalation techniques, and community resources and social services utilization. Experience working with First Nations people What You?ll DoProvide culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services to the population within WAHA?s catchment areaProvide counselling specific to client needs Maintain counselling case loadProcess referrals and determine urgency of each referralPerform comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients presenting with psychiatric symptoms that include suicidal ideation, psychosis, confusion including where substance abuse/dependence is a precipitant or compounding factor.
