POSITION TITLE: Youth Engagement WorkerPOSITION TYPE: Part-time (14 hr/week) with the opportunity for full-timeSALARY: 12,000 CAD to 15,000 CADREPORTS TO: Executive Director YUTR MISSION: To engage and equip youth to know and follow JesusPrimary Objective:Help run youth outreach programs by being involved in direct ministry, working with a team of staff and volunteers.The Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate has a God-given passion for seeing youth realize their inherent value and potential and seeks to lead them into becoming lifetime followers of Jesus.The successful candidate will succeed in Youth for Christ's (YFC) unique environment if they:Want to participate in expanding the ministry of YFC.Have a vibrant, mission-minded faith.Demonstrate theological / biblical understanding.Possess strong collaborative people management skills.Have strategic thinking and planning abilities.Have a passion to advocate on behalf of youth.Is highly motivated with a strong work ethic.Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.Believe in work / family balance.Responsibilities:SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (5%)Maintain spiritual vitality.Develop healthy, balanced personal life.Be a faithful, contributing member of a local church.Hold self-accountable to supervisor and mentor/accountability partner.Form a personal support team: prayer, encouragement, wisdom, finances.Pursue learning needed for growth and development in role.Participate in YFC?s prayer meetings.Complete credentialing program with YFC Canada.YOUTH PROGRAMMING / MINISTRY (70%)Participate in direct youth ministry - evening and day programs, events, trips and conferences.Help create an environment for growth by inviting youth into healthy and safe community.Develop trusted relationships with students and community leaders.Evaluate needs, and new opportunities through input from the community and being sensitive to God?s leading and direction.Work in partnership with area Youth Workers, Youth Ministries, and other like-minded partners to accomplish evangelism and outreach goals including challenging and equipping Christian youth to reach out to their peers.Invest in the health and resilience of volunteers.ORGANIZATION / ADMINISTRATION (15%)Meet regularly with Program Coordinator.Participate with the Program Coordinator and Executive Director in ministry evaluation, direction, and vision.Engage in fundraising activities for ministry programs and ensure they operate in a financially responsible manner.Participate in annual evaluation and revisiting ministry goals.PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (10%)Personal partnership development ? which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position.Keeping partners updated through regular communications and prayer request.
