*Summary of Function:* The Economic Development Coordinator supports the Economic Development Officer and the Town?s Economic Development Strategy by providing front-line support to businesses, coordinating initiatives, and supporting projects that enhance economic growth and community vitality. The role focuses on business retention and expansion, stakeholder engagement, and the coordination of economic development activities. The role supports responsive service delivery and helps reduce barriers for businesses. *KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* *1. Supports business engagement and service delivery* * Provides front-line support to new, expanding, and existing businesses by assisting with navigation of municipal processes and available resources * Builds and maintains relationships with businesses, investors, and community partners * Responds to inquiries from the business community and the public in a timely and professional manner. *2. Coordinates economic development initiatives* * Supports implementation of the Economic Development Strategy and Council-directed priorities * Coordinates projects and initiatives that advance economic development objectives * Assists with business retention and expansion efforts, including outreach and engagement *3. Supports data, reporting, and funding activities* * Collects, organizes, and maintains economic and business data, including key performance indicators * Prepares reports, presentations, and briefing materials * Assists with grant research, applications, administration, and reporting *4. Contributes to collaboration and promotion* * Works collaboratively with internal departments to support business development and service delivery * Assists with marketing and promotional materials in coordination with Communications * Represents the Town at meetings, events, and business outreach activities *EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE* * Postsecondary diploma or degree in economic development, business, marketing, planning,tourism, or a related field * Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in economic development,tourism, business support, or a related field * Experience working in a municipal or public-sector environment is considered an asset * Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiplepriorities * Ability to interpret and communicate municipal processes in a clear and practical manner * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide rangeof stakeholders * Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data management tools or CRM systems is anasset * Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver?s License * RCMP Based Criminal Record Check deemed acceptable by the Town The Town of Sylvan Lake is an equal opportunity employer and strongly supports diversity in the workplace; all candidates who are authorized to work in Canada and meet the qualifications are welcome to apply.
