Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities The AC Technician/ Plumber services job requests involving air conditioning and plumbing equipment as assigned to him/her. S/he also implements maintenance activities on AC and plumbing equipment, as well as implements minor construction and construction-related work The position is expected to implement activities that minimize disruption of services provided in facilities. Main duties and responsibilities Air conditioning services Services air conditioning systems, including direct digital control building controls, pneumatic systems, cooling systems, refrigerators, and water coolers Conducts maintenance activities and inspections of HVAC systems Cleans evaporator drain pans, coils, and filters Lubricates fan and motor bearings Repairs or replaces motors, electrical wiring, belts, compressors, thermostats, and fans Tests equipment using instruments and gauges (e.g., volt-ohm meters) and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, pumps, and controls based on readings Repairs piping connections, valves, couplings, and fittings using hand tools, drill press, brazing, welding, soldering, and related methods Plumbing services Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures within campus structures Performs welding and fitting works on high-pressure pipes and tanks Inspects plumbing and drainage systems inside buildings for preventive maintenance Coordinates plumbing tasks with contractors, electricians, and other professionals Other tasks Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or authorized representatives Knowledge, skills, and abilities Knowledge Administration: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Building and Construction: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Skills Time management: Effectively manages personal time and schedules tasks Coordination: Adjusts actions in relation to others and works well with teams Service orientation: Proactively looks for ways to assist clients and stakeholders Social perceptiveness: Aware of others’ reactions and understands interpersonal dynamics Equipment maintenance: Conducts routine upkeep and identifies when repairs are needed Equipment selection: Chooses appropriate tools and materials for each job Operation and control: Operates systems and machinery efficiently Operations monitoring: Observes indicators and gauges to ensure proper equipment function Quality control analysis: Inspects work and evaluates service performance Repairing and troubleshooting: Diagnoses problems and resolves them using the proper tools Education and experience requirements At least High School graduate Completed course related to either plumbing or servicing of air conditioners, with TESDA certification With at least 2 years of experience in plumbing and in handling AC Chiller Water Operation (1 year experience enough if with NC II certification)
