Job description Education and Experience Requirements: A bachelors degree in engineering from a reputed University with 12-15 years of industry experience in purchasing and expediting functions (minimum 5 years in expediting) in a reputed company on Energy, Infrastructure, or mining projects. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough understanding of equipment and material fabrication steps and methods. Proficiency in monitoring supplier performance, back-charge procedures and the resolution of claims and disputes. Thorough understanding of Logistics and Supplier Quality processes. Proficient in interpreting schedules to ensure that realistic milestones are established, that required activities occur on time, and that Interface between activities is maintained. Skilled in oral and written communication skills regarding technical and production matters with both project and supplier personnel. Knows how to deal professionally with suppliers and project personnel. Capable of providing early warning to the Project Management of supplier deficiencies or schedule slippage. Familiar with how to develop expediting budgets. Familiar with developing and tracking metrics.
