Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat various gastrointestinal conditions such as liver diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, gastrointestinal cancers, and digestive disorders. Consult with patients to assess their symptoms and medical history, performing physical examinations when required. Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies to evaluate the gastrointestinal system. Provide patients with a clear explanation of their condition and treatment options, ensuring they are well-informed. Work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists to coordinate patient care and treatment plans. Administer appropriate treatments and medications, and recommend lifestyle and dietary modifications for patient recovery. Stay updated on the latest medical research and advances in gastroenterology and incorporate evidence-based practices in clinical treatment. Participate in case discussions, departmental meetings, and medical conferences to foster professional development. Provide patient education on gastrointestinal health, prevention, and wellness. Document patient interactions and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies. Assist in training and mentoring junior medical staff or residents in gastroenterology.
