Job Description – Senior Software Engineer (Java) Experience: 9–13 Years Domain: Digital Banking / Fintech Platforms Role Summary We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with 9–13 years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-grade banking applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, secure application development, and banking domain knowledge. The role requires hands-on technical contribution, code quality ownership, mentoring junior engineers, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance digital banking solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot. • Lead, mentor, and grow cross-functional engineering teams across multiple locations • Provide technical and people leadership to Team Leads and senior engineers • Develop scalable Microservices and REST APIs following industry best practices. • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions. • Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards, security, and quality guidelines. • Implement secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, and API security. • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability. • Collaborate with UI (ReactJS/Flutter), QA, DevOps, Product, and Architecture teams. • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement permanent fixes. • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance during development. • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and engineering best practices. Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration. • Ability to mentor junior engineers and support technical decision-making. • Experience working with distributed or multi-site teams. • Self-driven with strong ownership and accountability. Nice to Have • Experience with multiple Core Banking Systems (CBS). • Knowledge of DevOps practices and monitoring tools. • Agile/Scrum development experience. • Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • Banking security and compliance knowledge.
