Apptio TBMS Developer Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Apptio TBM Studio (TBMS) Developer to design, implement, and maintain Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions. This role focuses on building cost transparency models, allocation logic, and financial reporting within the Apptio TBM Studio environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Apptio TBMS, data modeling, and IT financial management, and will partner closely with finance, IT, and TBM offices to deliver actionable insights into IT spend and cost drivers. An working exposure in General Insurance industry is preferred. ________________________________________ Required Skills & Qualifications Core TBMS Skills .Hands-on experience with: oApptio TBM Studio (TBMS) .Strong understanding of: oTBM taxonomy oCost allocation methodologies oFinancial modeling within Apptio oIntercompany charge backs and recoveries Technical Skills .Strong data analysis and modeling capabilities .Proficiency in: oAdvanced Excel oSQL for data validation and querying .Understanding of: oETL processes oData transformation techniques .Strong understanding of: oIT Financial Management (ITFM) oBudgeting and forecasting processes oCost structures across IT services oVariance analysis oBenchmarking oVendor Insights oCloud cost management oFamiliarity with FinOPS frameworks (Focus) ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities 1. TBM Studio Development & Modeling .Design, develop, and maintain TBM models in Apptio TBM Studio (TBMS). .Configure: oCost allocations and drivers oMetrics, hierarchies, and mappings oBusiness rules and transformation logic .Build scalable models to support: oInfrastructure costs oApplication costs oShared services allocations ________________________________________ 2. Cost Transparency & IT Financial Modeling .Develop and maintain cost transparency models aligned to TBM taxonomy. .Analyze and model: oIT spend across towers and services oCost flows from source systems to business units .Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives. .Ensure accurate representation of unit costs (e.g., cost per service, cost per user). ________________________________________ 3. Data Integration & Management .Ingest and transform data from multiple enterprise systems: oERP (SAP, Anaplan) oCMDB oHR systems oCloud billing platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, GCP) .Perform: oData mapping and validation oReconciliation and quality checks .Ensure consistency and reliability of source data feeding TBM models. ________________________________________ 4. Reporting & Dashboards .Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports within Apptio. .Provide insights on: oIT cost allocation oBudget vs actuals oCost trends and drivers .Optimize reporting for performance and user usability. ________________________________________ 5. Stakeholder Collaboration .Work closely with: oTBM Office / IT Finance oCIO organization oBusiness unit stakeholders oFinOPS .Gather requirements and translate them into TBM models and reports. .Support stakeholders with analysis, reporting, and decision-making insights. ________________________________________ 6. Testing & Deployment .Perform model validation and unit testing to ensure accuracy. .Support deployment of: oModel updates oData changes oConfiguration enhancements .Ensure adherence to change management and governance processes. ________________________________________ 7. Continuous Improvement & Optimization .Identify opportunities to improve: oModel accuracy oProcessing performance oData quality .Enhance existing TBM solutions to meet evolving business needs. .Drive automation in data processing and reporting workflows. ________________________________________ 8. Documentation & Governance .Maintain detailed documentation for: oTBM models and logic oData sources and mappings oAllocation methodologies .Ensure compliance with TBM standards and organizational governance. .Support audits and financial validation processes. .Create Functional specs, Technical architecture and design documentations ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications .Apptio (TBM / TBMS) certification .Experience in TBM Office or ITFM teams .Exposure to cloud cost management (AWS, Azure, FinOps) .ITIL Foundation certification .Experience in large enterprises (BFSI, telecom, technology)
