Romanian Interpreter – Freelance / Flexible Work

In order to work in Ireland a non-EEA National, unless they are exempted, must hold a valid employment permit. We are looking for Romanian speakers with excellent English to provide interpreting support on a freelance basis. The role involves helping Romanian and English speakers communicate effectively during appointments, consultations, meetings and other situations where language assistance is required. The work will involve Romanian ↔ English interpreting, with assignments offered according to demand and your availability. What does the work involve? Interpreting assignments can vary in length and may take place: * Face-to-face at different locations * Over the telephone * Through online video meetings You will listen carefully to both parties and interpret what is being said accurately and impartially, while maintaining confidentiality throughout the assignment. Who can apply? We would be interested in hearing from applicants who: * Speak Romanian to a native or near-native standard * Have a strong command of English * Communicate confidently and clearly * Are dependable and punctual * Can remain impartial and professional when interpreting * Understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality Professional interpreting experience is an advantage, but it is not essential for every applicant. If you are bilingual, have excellent communication skills and believe you would be suited to interpreting work, we would be happy to consider your application. Working arrangements This is freelance, assignment-based work with no fixed weekly schedule. When we have a suitable booking, we will contact you with the relevant details. You can then confirm whether you are available to take the assignment. Both occasional and more regularly available interpreters are welcome to apply.
