We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and people-focused Warehouse Supervisor to work alongside the Warehouse Manager in leading and managing our warehouse operations. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, preparation, and dispatch of fresh produce. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining food safety standards, managing stock levels, and ensuring all inbound and outbound deliveries are processed accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations • Support the Warehouse Manager in the daily operation of the warehouse. • Ensure stock is received, stored, rotated, and managed correctly using FIFO principles. • Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities for operational improvement. • Ensure customer orders are picked, checked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time. • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and warehouse efficiency. • Ensure all areas are operating in line with customer requirements and company standards. Team Leadership • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse operatives to achieve operational targets. • Assist the Warehouse Manager with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities. • Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping, productivity, and adherence to company procedures. • Deputise for the Warehouse Manager during periods of absence. • Assist with labour planning, shift scheduling, and resource allocation. • Support warehouse audits, stocktakes, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Provide regular updates on operational performance, staffing issues, and warehouse challenges. Deliveries & Logistics • Coordinate inbound supplier deliveries and outbound customer deliveries. • Investigate delivery discrepancies and implement corrective actions where necessary. • Coordinate the movement of raw vegetables into the preparation area. • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Transport teams to meet daily customer requirements and deadlines. • Ensure vehicles are loaded safely, accurately, and efficiently. • Maintain high standards of product quality, presentation, and customer specification compliance. • Minimise picking errors, product damage, and customer complaints. Food Safety & Compliance • Ensure HACCP, hygiene, temperature control, traceability, and quality procedures are followed at all times. Health, Safety & Compliance • Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and food safety procedures. • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the operation. • Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits. • Address safety concerns and hazards promptly. Stock Control & Administration • Carry out regular stock checks and investigate discrepancies. • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to relevant departments. • Monitor waste and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
