Monaghan Nexus Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Weekend Transport Planner to join an established transport operation in Co. Monaghan. This is a key planning role responsible for coordinating weekend transport operations, drivers and vehicles while ensuring excellent service, compliance and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate drivers, HGVs and trailers. Manage transport schedules and daily operational requirements. Coordinate driver availability and fleet capacity. Monitor driver hours, breaks and compliance with relevant legislation. Liaise with drivers, customers and internal teams. Monitor vehicle and trailer movements. Resolve operational and planning issues promptly. Maintain accurate transport and operational records. Support compliance with transport legislation and company procedures. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service performance. Use transport planning systems to manage schedules and operational information. Skills & Experience Previous experience in transport planning, logistics or fleet coordination. Strong knowledge of transport operations and relevant legislation. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Strong geographical knowledge of Ireland & UK. Good IT skills and experience using transport planning systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. HGV licence is desirable but not essential. Experience using Eureka MoveIT or similar transport planning software is advantageous. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and commercially aware, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure. They will be confident communicating with drivers and colleagues and capable of taking ownership of transport planning responsibilities. Working Pattern & Salary The role initially involves an up to six-month daytime onboarding and training period to become fully familiar with the business and operation. Following successful onboarding, the position will move into the defined four-day weekend transport planning schedule. Salary: €50,000 per annum.
