Shannondoc is recruiting Registered Nurses for permanent 16 or 19-hour part-time contracts at our Limerick Call Centre, with hybrid working available following successful training and competency assessment. Please note: this is a Limerick-based position and is not a fully remote role. Successful candidates must be able to attend shifts regularly at our Central Call Centre in Limerick. Contract: Permanent part-time contracts Evening, overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts Short working week Flexible rostering Weekend-only contracts available Flexibility required Location: Shannondoc Central Call Centre, St. Camillus Hospital, Limerick Pay & Benefits: Paid fortnightly (hourly rate) 35 days annual leave pro rata (inclusive of public holidays) Paid lunch breaks Sick Pay Scheme Paid maternity & paternity leave Cycle to Work Scheme Free on-site parking Fully paid training & induction Career progression opportunities Supportive clinical leadership team Employee Assistance Programme CPD support – reimbursement for approved professional training and certifications About the Role As a Telephone Triage Nurse, you will: Interacting with patients over the phone, the nurse will use clinical software together with professional judgement and training to assess patient symptoms. Practice in accordance with and have a good working knowledge of all ShannonDoc policies, procedures, and guidelines. Maintain nursing records and documentation to a high standard. Provide treatment, advice, or direction, based on the protocols, guidelines, and clinical software provided by the company. Liaise with all other members of the multidisciplinary team when required. Ascertain the urgency of the patient’s medical need at the time of the call and direct them to the most suitable level of medical care (GP, ED, ambulance, Nurse advice). Maintain patient safety. Provide nursing care in accordance with NMBI Code of Professional Conduct and scope of practice framework. Engage in continuous professional development. Essential Requirements NMBI Registered General Nurse (RGN) Minimum 3 years post-registration experience Strong clinical judgement and confidence in decision-making Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: Emergency / Acute Care Paediatrics Practice Nursing Obstetrics Mental Health (If you have relevant experience outside these areas, we still encourage you to apply.) Qualifications/Skills: Basic IT skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, desirable. Excellent Communication Skills inclusive of written and verbal communication. Proactive with good initiative. Friendly, courteous and professional manner. Professional Phone etiquette. Strong Organisational skills and efficient time management.
