Our client, M & N Civil Engineering Limited, based in Derrybeg, Co. Donegal, is currently seeking Plant Mechanics for immediate start at their facility in Dublin 12, Co. Dublin, D12 E227. Qualifications: 2-3 years’ Plant Mechanic experience required. Mechanic Certification preferred but not essential. There are no minimum academic requirements. Further training will be provided on-the-job as required. General Duties / Responsibilities / Experience: - To maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service machinery and equipment used in quarries, quarrying and related activities - To ensure that all plant machinery is operating efficiently and safely, to minimize downtime, and to support the overall productivity of the plant - To perform regular maintenance checks on plant machinery, including mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers, and batching systems. - To conduct preventative maintenance tasks to extend the life of equipment and minimize breakdowns. - To lubricate machinery, replace worn parts, and ensure all components are in good working condition. - To identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in plant equipment and diagnose problems accurately. - To repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring that all machinery is returned to full operational capacity in a timely manner. - To perform both scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime. - To ensure all work is conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. - To maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on plant equipment. - Essential knowledge includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as the ability to diagnose and fix issues promptly to ensure smooth plant operations - Essential knowledge includes strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals, and excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills - Essential skills include application of relevant health & safety and environmental legislation, performance of system checks and adjustments on machinery, and monitoring of inventory supply for required equipment - Candidates must be competent to assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades - Candidates must be competent to monitor stock levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for maintenance and order parts and supplies as needed - A mechanic qualification or certificate is a bonus but is not mandatory - 2-3 years’ of proven relevant experience as a Plant Mechanic is required.
