Your mission As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will lead R&D activities for fire suppression systems, products and components from concept through industrialization, serial production and end-of-life. You will manage and develop the R&D team, while managing the R&D project portfolio and product-development activities, ensuring effective coordination and decision-making. Your main responsibilities R&D Leadership & Team Management • Lead R&D activities for fire suppression systems, products and components from concept through industrialization, serial production and end-of-life. • Manage and develop the R&D team by setting objectives, priorities, workload and resources; ensure delegation, performance follow-up and competency development. • Work autonomously and remain accountable for the assigned scope; supervise R&D Engineers and Technical Designers when required. R&D Project & Product Management • Manage the R&D project portfolio and product-development activities, including 2D/3D definitions, technical specifications, validation and industrial performance, in line with quality, cost, timing, compliance and customer milestones. • Lead preventive and corrective actions and manage the assigned product portfolio throughout serial life, including engineering changes, obsolescence, cost reduction, supplier changes, production deviations, quality issues and field feedback. • Support product risk analyses, knowledge transfer and technical training in cooperation with Production, Quality and other internal partners. Technical & Product Engineering • Manage technical customer and supplier relationships, requirements, reviews, risks, problem solving, homologation and certification support. • Ensure accurate and traceable product data across CAD, PDM and ERP systems, including drawings, specifications, material masters, bills of materials, routings, revisions, statuses and engineering changes. R&D Strategy, Compliance & Digital Transformation • Define and maintain the R&D roadmap for fire suppression systFems, including valves, actuators, pressure regulation, detection and control components. • Ensure compliance with applicable product, pressure-equipment, transportable-pressure-equipment, fire-protection and customer-approval requirements. • Support homologation and certification with laboratories, notified bodies and approval organizations, ensuring complete and timely technical files. • Drive product-family standardization, modularity and reuse to improve quality, reduce complexity and accelerate development. • Lead the migration from CATIA to Siemens NX and Teamcenter X, including data cleansing, conversion, validation, configuration rules, KPIs, training, user support and phased deployment in coordination with other R&D departments. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Ensure effective coordination and decision-making between R&D, Management, Laboratory, Purchasing, Production, Sales, Quality, Project Management, suppliers and customers. • Support product risk analyses, knowledge transfer and technical training in cooperation with Production, Quality and other internal partners. • Provide technical support to Purchasing, Production and Sales for sourcing, manufacturability, quotations, claims and product applications.
