We're scaling fast, and we're looking for engineers who'd rather untangle hard, real-world problems than push pixels on a toy app. What You'll Do As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll help build and scale the systems running our global manufacturing ecosystem: Design and develop highly available, scalable backend services in AWS Build and maintain event-driven, asynchronous systems using Node.js Create robust APIs (REST / GraphQL) powering customer-facing and internal tools Partner closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to ship features that actually move the business Contribute to technical design discussions and drive best practices across the team Debug production issues and improve system reliability Continuously improve code quality through testing, observability, and documentation What You Bring 5+ years of backend engineering experience Strong skills in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript Experience building systems on AWS (SQS, Lambda, EC2, RDS, etc.) Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures Experience designing and maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases A commitment to writing unit and integration tests Knowledge of system design, caching, and security best practices (OWASP Top 10) Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder) Nice to have: AWS certification Experience with high-scale or business-critical systems How You Work You take ownership and ship clean, maintainable, production-ready code You communicate clearly and collaborate across teams You solve problems proactively, even outside your immediate scope You enjoy mentoring others and raising the bar for engineering excellence You stay curious and keep learning new technologies and patterns Why MISUMI Americas? If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
