Your role Dialpad’s Quality Engineering team ensures the reliability, scalability, and seamless customer experience of our AI-first communications platform across third-party integrations and enterprise workflows. As a Sr. QA Engineer, you will own the quality strategy and release readiness for assigned product areas, partnering closely with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to build quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle. You will help advance test automation, improve release confidence, and champion modern Quality Engineering practices while ensuring seamless interoperability between Dialpad and enterprise applications for customers in Japan and global markets. This role is based in Tokyo and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams across Japan and international locations. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones, and a collaborative approach to partnering with global stakeholders. As part of Dialpad's globally integrated Engineering organization, this position reports to a QA Manager based in India, reflecting our borderless approach to building high-performing teams and delivering quality at scale across regions. What you’ll do Find code defects and write clear, reproducible bug reports. Act as a liaison on technical issues between customers in Japan and English-speaking engineering teams around the world. Own the quality strategy and release readiness for assigned feature and product domains. Validate end-to-end workflows across Product, Contact Center, Workforce Management, ERP, and other enterprise platforms. Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing to ensure high-quality releases. Validate AI-powered product capabilities, including conversational AI and LLM-driven experiences, where applicable. Execute and maintain automated UI, API, and integration test suites using modern automation frameworks. Analyze test failures, perform root cause analysis, and partner with Engineering to resolve defects quickly. Continuously improve test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency. Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to improve productivity, accelerate test creation, and optimize quality workflows. Partner effectively with regional and global stakeholders to ensure product quality meets the expectations of enterprise customers in Japan. Skills you’ll bring 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering within SaaS or enterprise software environments. Experience supporting enterprise customers or internal stakeholders in Japan or the broader APAC region. Understanding of Japanese business practices and customer expectations in enterprise software environments. Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or comparable automation frameworks. Strong understanding of Quality Engineering principles, automation strategy, and risk-based testing. Strong understanding of UI, API, integration, end-to-end, regression, and exploratory testing. Experience testing REST APIs using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools. Excellent debugging, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Professional working proficiency in English, with strong communication skills for working across global teams. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
