Fraud Prevention Manager Fraud Prevention team SumUp's Fraud Prevention team sits at the intersection of risk, data and global payments, moving fast to stay ahead of one of fintech's most dynamic challenges: stopping fraud at scale across multiple markets and products. As the team shifts from a market based to a global, product focused model, this role takes on ownership of the Acquiring domain worldwide, a rare chance to shape a global strategy at a pivotal moment rather than inherit a finished playbook. Reporting directly to the Head of Risk & Fraud Prevention and partnering with a second global fraud prevention manager focused on non acquiring fraud, this is an opportunity to influence how SumUp protects approval rates and merchant trust everywhere it operates. What you'll do Lead a team of fraud specialists through clear goal setting, coaching and strong execution standards, while hiring for open roles and building a culture of ownership. Own the global Acquiring fraud strategy roadmap, translating fraud trends, performance data and market needs into rule optimisation, threshold management and authentication strategies. Drive the review and testing of Acquiring rules to keep controls effective as fraud patterns evolve. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Data Science, Product and regional leaders to prioritise model development and improve fraud tooling. Monitor fraud and chargeback performance through KPIs and data analysis, diagnosing root causes and protecting approval rates across all markets. You'll be great for this role if… Proven experience in fraud prevention, fraud strategy or risk management within payments or fintech, including hands on work with rules engines, decision systems or authentication strategies. Track record of hiring, coaching and managing performance as an experienced people leader. Strong knowledge of working with databases and building KPIs to measure the impact of strategy changes, with SQL or coding skills as a plus. Ability to influence and align cross functional teams across Operations, Engineering, Data Science, Product and senior stakeholders, communicating fluently in English. A quantitative degree (Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or a related field), paired with a growth mindset, quick adaptability and strong prioritisation under pressure. Why you should join SumUp 🌎 Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our dynamic São Paulo hub in the heart of the city. This involves an office-first setup 🌈 Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced 🚀 Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success 📚 A dedicated annual L&D budget of R$ 10,000 for education, certifications, and conferences 🏖 Generous time off: enjoy 22 working days of paid leave, plus public holidays and special leave days 💪 Stay fit: Wellhub membership included and gym at the office 💼 Financial wellness: SumUp contributes to your private retirement plan with Santander 🧠 Mental well-being: access to Zenklub for therapy, coaching, and emotional wellness resources About SumUp Be empowered to do more that matters.
