Job title: Data Validation Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role) Finance has mobilised the first phase of a five year programme to transform the Finance operating model by leveraging cloud technology. Finance Cloud Transformation will rationalise operational processes, automate data and report production, to deliver comprehensive data to our internal and external stakeholders for analysis and reporting. The programme will entail migration of core Finance data and processes to the cloud, with an initial phase to implement a standard global operating process for Finance actuals report production, followed closely by forecast data and report production. The vision for the Finance on the Cloud Programme is “to deliver standardised global processes that leverage a single dataset for reporting, analysis and forecasting.” Key programme outcomes are to deliver a singular automated data production processing capability for actuals and forecasting, correction of data once for all downstream calculations, reports and outputs, introducing automated preventative and detective controls, significantly reduce manual activity in the run-time actuals process to allow the production of all actuals outputs by working day 5 for a monthly process The Data Analyst will be expected to support the delivery of data related activities within the FotC programme. Various aspects may include data validation, solution functionality validation, data gap analysis, reconciliation, user tooling or automation testing activities. • The role holder will be responsible to functionally understand and test our liquidity core release requirements • He/ She is required to perform a detailed data validation to ensure the data reflects accurately across all liquidity returns for all applicable regulations - PRA/EBA/HKMA/US FED etc. • He/She needs to furnish UAT dashboards and walkthrough the Reporting Ops of the changes introduced by liquidity core release requirements • He/She is responsible to handle various queries raised by Reporting Ops and drive the UAT sign off discussions for a successful liquidity release implementation Key accountabilities include: · Review Finance wide manual adjustments and EUC’s including recommending automated solutions in order to minimise operational risk and time · Presenting Validation dashboards to relevant stakeholders and provide status update on their data accuracy and completeness · Gather requirements from business users on data validations, reconciliations and data elements · Supporting FotC Data Lead in planning and tracking progress of data work stream · Supporting wider Finance data related initiatives, including resolution of upstream data initiatives, investigation and prioritisation of data issues, liaising with IT teams to support delivery of data sourcing changes · Working with DMU to resolve Global Data Quality issues and creating a Data Operating Model · Provide worldwide sites with effective communication of data issues in order for them to improve their data quality · Work closely with diverse Business and IT teams, to ensure test issues and defects are successfully resolved Be conversant with the principles of Finance data production and reporting, and understand the functions of relevant Business stakeholder areas · Facilitate issue resolution to ensure that the schedule of each work stream remains on track and that any issues are resolved through appropriate, agreed solutions · Perform Data Gap analysis and raise data sourcing requirements to relevant teams · Work with dynamic plans in a fast moving environment, continually assessing priorities and progress and adjusting course where necessary, being sure to maintain alignment with other programme work streams · Support the internal and external audit where required. Ensure the relevant controls are met. Technical Skill Requirements · Exposure to Liquidity Risk reports – PRA LCR, PRA NSFR PRA110 and ILM · Able to understand regulations on liquidity risk and write requirements required for remediating adjustments · An understanding of the principles of Finance data and report · Proficient in interrogating databases via SQL queries · An understanding of systems delivery lifecycles and testing principles · Proficient in the use of test tools (such as Quality Centre) and test processes (e.g. defect management) · Be able to formulate test strategies and confident in running a successful test phase · An appreciation of systems and data architectures · Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
