HelloFresh Group is the world's leading integrated food solutions provider, with a global portfolio of brands spanning meal kits, ready-to-eat meals, and specialty products. From our Berlin headquarters, we build and run the technology that delivers millions of meals every week. We welcome team players who thrive in a dynamic environment, lead with ownership, and bring diverse perspectives to the table. If you are motivated to grow in a culture that champions speed and agility, data-driven decision making, and customer centricity, we would like to hear from you. The role The Foundations Alliance builds the tools and infrastructure that empower engineering teams across HelloFresh. Cloud Runtime sits at the center of it: we provide a reliable and highly performant multi-cluster container platform so that every HelloFresh engineer can deploy services with 99.99% uptime, high performance, low latency, and minimal operational overhead. As Engineering Manager for Cloud Runtime, you will lead a squad of platform engineers who own the container platform, networking, and traffic routing that more than 1,000 production services depend on across Europe, North America, and Australia and New Zealand. You will partner closely with our Product Manager to turn a defined platform strategy into a roadmap the team can execute, and you will be accountable for the reliability and cost of what we run. This is a hands-on leadership role. Your day will not be spent writing code, but you will be close enough to the system to read a pull request, follow a debugging session, and challenge the team on any technical decision they bring you, from an architecture proposal to an incident postmortem. What you'll do Lead, grow, and support a distributed squad of platform engineers, with team members based in Berlin and Poland, owning hiring, development, and performance for the team Build and maintain an engineering roadmap spanning one to two quarters, and make explicit trade-offs between features, timelines, and quality Drive our core platform commitments: expanding into a highly available platform with failover between pre-provisioned clusters, increasing adoption of our container platform and multi-region deployments, and reducing infrastructure cost through networking and compute optimisation Own the squad's operational metrics and be accountable for moving them Facilitate and role-model postmortems, and drive the follow-through on action items Manage relationships with key infrastructure vendors and work with Security on audit and compliance requirements Partner with the Observability, Release Engineering, and Security squads, where our roadmaps are tightly coupled and dependencies run in both directions Foster an inclusive and open working environment, and create the kind of documentation and knowledge sharing that makes the team less dependent on any single person What you'll bring Experience managing a team of engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development Experience leading a team that is split across more than one location, and the habits that make that work A strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, with hands-on experience of Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform Familiarity with the surrounding ecosystem: service mesh, API gateways, infrastructure as code, GitOps-style deployment, and secrets management The ability to contribute technically when needed, whether that means reviewing code, pairing on a problem, or helping debug an incident Experience owning production systems with meaningful availability targets, including incident response and on-call practices Judgement about when a decision is reversible and when it is not, and a willingness to front-load design effort on the ones that are not Strong stakeholder management, and the ability to say no to a loud request that is not on the roadmap Clear written communication and strong asynchronous collaboration skills Above all, we are looking for people who will make HelloFresh Group better. We believe there are many different ways of developing skills and we love diverse experiences, so even if you don't tick all the boxes but think you'd thrive in this role, we would really like to learn more about you. What we offer Compensation & Financial Wellbeing You’ll receive a competitive salary package, including a HelloFresh-subsidized pension scheme. Enjoy savings on your weekly HelloFresh box. Save with discount schemes with corporate benefits and Vorteile. Health & Wellbeing Support your mental wellbeing with access to platforms like Headspace and Spill. Stay active with 24/7 office gym access, a discounted Urban Sports Club membership, and other wellbeing resources. Flexibility & Work-Life Balance your life with our flexible hybrid model. Recharge with sabbatical leave options in addition to standard time off. Get to work with ease through sustainable travel perks and transportation benefits. Career & Development Embrace "Learning Never Stops" with internal training, the HelloFresh Academy, and a dedicated budget for German language courses. Culture & Environment Enjoy tasty in-office meal deals and fresh food options. We support working families with parent-friendly policies, an in-office kids corner, and an on-site babysitter. #Engineering

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
