About the opportunity The Digital Identity team at N26 owns the authentication and login experience — the moment every customer interacts with our product. Our mission is to make secure access seamless: biometric login, session management, device trust, and the underlying SDK infrastructure that makes all of it reliable at scale. We work at the intersection of security, product quality, and mobile engineering, and the iOS platform is a critical surface for everything we build. This is a Hybrid role from Barcelona or Vienna. In this role, you will: Build and maintain iOS authentication flows — including biometric login (Face ID/Touch ID), session stability, and device management — used by millions of N26 customers. Take co-ownership of the iOS codebase within the Digital Identity domain, working closely with the existing iOS engineer to grow shared coverage and resilience. Integrate and maintain third-party mobile SDKs (e.g. biometric authentication, security tooling) and own the upgrade and reliability cycle. Collaborate with Android and Backend engineers on cross-platform identity features, contributing to API design and shared testing infrastructure. Drive iOS regression testing quality — including Testrail suite maintenance and automated test coverage — as a first-class engineering concern. Use your platform knowledge to make architectural decisions for the iOS identity layer and tackle complex problems around security, performance, and stability. Work with Product and stakeholders to shape the roadmap for the iOS experience within the Digital Identity domain. What you need to be successful: Background & Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and deep understanding of the iOS platform and Swift. Experience with iOS security frameworks — biometric APIs (LocalAuthentication), Keychain, or equivalent. The ability to showcase your experience with a variety of iOS frameworks, including networking, UI, and testing. Experience working in an Agile development environment, ideally on authentication, identity, or security-adjacent features. An excellent debugger with strong analytical skills — session and device-layer bugs require patience and rigour. Proficiency with tools like Jira and TestRail for issue tracking and test case management. Full professional proficiency in English. Traits: Strong sense of ownership — in a focused team, your work ships directly to customers. A systematic problem-solving approach, especially under security and reliability constraints. Proactiveness, collaboration, and an eagerness to learn — you'll be working closely with your iOS peer and contributing to a broader mobile engineering community. Comfort working autonomously while staying well-connected across platform and backend disciplines. What's in it for you: Accelerate your career growth by joining one of Europe's most talked-about disruptors. Employee benefits including a competitive personal development budget, work-from-home budget, and discounts for fitness, wellness, language apps, and public transportation. A free Premium subscription on your personal N26 bank account, plus subscriptions for friends and family. Vacation: An additional day of annual leave for each year of service. Autonomy: A high degree of autonomy and access to cutting-edge technologies. Relocation: A relocation package with visa support for those who need it. Who we are N26 has reimagined banking for today's digital world. Technology and design empower everything we do and it's how we are building the global banking platform the world loves to use. We've eliminated physical branches, paperwork, and hidden fees for an elegant digital experience and supreme savings. We are headquartered in Berlin with offices in multiple cities across Europe, including Vienna and Barcelona, and a 1,500-strong team of more than 80 nationalities. Sounds good? Apply now for this position. Equal Opportunities We recognize that our strength lies in our people and the varied perspectives they bring to our workforce. We strive to build talented and diverse teams to drive our business success and empower our people to reach their full potential. We genuinely welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, neurodiversities, and ages. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
