Job Description Team/Job Description: The Global Trade Compliance (GTC) organization develops policies and standards, provides regulatory guidance, and helps implement and monitor controls to mitigate import/export risks across the entire Coupang organization. While the GTC program is deployed globally, as GTC CN, the candidate will partner closely with local business lines and shared services functions to design products, services, and controls that streamline trade compliance processes while effectively measuring, monitoring, and reporting trade compliance risks Key Responsibilities: Deploy the GTC program in CN through auditing, monitoring, and providing advisory support to business units Foster strategic partnerships and influence key business leaders by identifying trade compliance opportunities and mitigating risks. Leverage a thorough understanding of trade compliance regulations to develop business cases that drive operational efficiencies. Ensure trade compliance operations are anchored in robust due diligence and comprehensive risk analysis. Develop and implement key metrics to measure trade compliance effectiveness and progress Essential Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in international trade and logistics, with in-depth understanding of China Customs Regulations/Laws; Background in compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, business management, and/or consulting; Creative thinker, ability to streamline processes, implement changes that foster higher efficiencies while meeting expectations of our internal and external stakeholders; Demonstrated end to end ownership of processes, including operating effectively in ambiguous or loosely structured environments; Confident decision maker who proactively identifies issues and proposes solutions, including constructively challenging others when needed Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese Detail oriented, self-driven, resilient under pressure Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in China trade compliance program within fast paced, technology driven or marketplace businesses Experience in Japan trade compliance program is plus Confident decision maker who proactively identifies issues and proposes solutions, including constructively challenging others when needed Professional certifications or qualifications in trade compliance (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker)
