You will work with your team of software engineers, content developers, artists, producers and product managers to create value for players around the world. You will be guided by Riot's Test Policy to ensure the execution of quality activities at every stage of the software development life cycle. As a QA Engineer II for the Engine team on VALORANT , you will be accountable for ensuring that design and delivery intent is clearly understood by the teams involved, risks to quality are highlighted early and often, and that you have sufficient and effective test strategies, test plans, information, and resources to accomplish the team’s quality goals for your product[s]. You will also be responsible for reporting on product quality and using that data to identify and implement quality improvements to the team’s development process. Additionally, you will partner with remote QA teams to ensure features are delivered at a high quality bar. You will report to the Quality Manager for the project in Sydney. Responsibilities: Map your team's work to quality targets based on product goals, while driving visibility on progress Collect, track, analyze, and report quality metrics to stakeholders that provide measurable and actionable test data Proactively identify and highlight quality concerns & risks to product stakeholders, and collaborate to develop risk mitigation strategies Analyze crash reports and debug logs to identify root causes, triage engine issues, and provide clear next steps for engineering teams Communicate progress of assigned tasks, and blockers to you and your team's work Triage, monitor, and prioritize the defect database Improve on methods of test execution at the team-level Provide feedback on content and code being developed Author test plans and oversee test execution, working together with test partners around the world to ensure all necessary testing is completed at the quality bar the team has set Work with your team, the broader VALORANT org, and your test partners to coach a quality mindset and maintain a high quality bar in your domain space Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance 1+ years working with game engines, related applications or equivalent experience Experience engaging in technical design discussions, partnering with engineering-focused teams to build technical quality solutions including test harnesses, validation tools, and debugging workflows Experience designing and executing test plans from both a whitebox and blackbox approach Experience working with scripting for test automation, including visual scripting Experience managing components of a defect database Experience tasking remote testers and providing feedback on effectiveness Experience working embedded with multidisciplinary teams on Agile Product Development Experience creating custom reports on test coverage and defect data Desired Qualifications: Professional QA experience working on game engines as a part of game development Comfortable with deep-dive investigations and testing technical implementations Experience with Unreal Engine 5, Perforce, Zephyr, and Git Experience with Unreal Insights or similar profiling tools Professional experience working on first-person shooters Preferred Licenses/certifications: ISTQB Foundation Level ISTQB Agile Tester or ICAgile Agile Testing (ICP-TST) ISTQB Expert Level ISTQB Advanced Test Manager ICAgile Test Expert (ICE-AT) For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise and a collaborative spirit that prioritizes the delight of players.
