Jump is looking for a Digital Modem Engineer to join our world class wireless team. In this role, you will you will lead the design and development of custom, low-latency modem architectures for our point-to-point wireless networks around the globe. What You'll Do: Design, simulate, and realize innovative physical layer wireless communication algorithms for low latency applications Implement modem/system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development Collaborate with digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area efficient implementation Skills You’ll Need: At least 5+ years of experience in the design, build, and deployment of digital modem systems Deep knowledge and demonstrated experience in digital modem design, including Transmit and receive pulse shaping digital filter design Symbol rate throughput, latency, and spectral occupancy analysis and optimization Carrier/symbol clock offset tracking and recovery Adaptive equalization using blind, training-based, and decision-directed algorithms Channel modeling and simulation Fixed point design, simulation and analysis Experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Matlab for algorithm development, modeling (floating-point and fixed-point) and link-level simulation MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience Reliable and predictable availability Bonus Points: Experience in logic design for wireless modem FPGAs, ASICs or custom data-path components for DSP applications (sequential and arithmetic components) Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) and microwave components: oscillators, mixers, attenuators, amplifiers, couplers, isolators, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) layout If you are currently a student or recent graduate, please see our Campus postings which offer both intern and full-time opportunities. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
