About the Role: We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Infrastructure Engineer Intern who is best in class with a high IQ plus a high EQ. This role presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a rapidly growing team, with abundant prospects for career advancement. What You’ll Do: Assist in maintaining and improving our data warehousing systems (AWS DMS, Redshift). Support the team in monitoring data pipelines, identifying issues, and troubleshooting basic problems. Write and optimize SQL queries for analytics and data validation. Collaborate with engineers and analysts to understand data needs and support use cases. Participate in testing, documentation, and improving reliability of data systems. Identify and automate repetitive daily manual processes, reducing operational overhead and improving team efficiency. Learn and explore new tools and technologies in the data ecosystem. What We Look For: Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field. Basic understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, relational concepts) and no sql databases. Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar). Interest in data infrastructure, distributed systems, or backend engineering. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required; candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication. Leveraged AI tools such as Claude to accelerate development workflows, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and enhance productivity. Preferred Knowledge and Skills: Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred). Basic understanding of data pipelines or ETL concepts. Awareness of data warehousing concepts. Interest in big data or streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis Streams, Flink etc.) About You: You’re curious and proactive - you ask questions and seek to understand how things work. You take ownership of your learning and follow through on tasks. You’re open to feedback and eager to improve. You communicate clearly and work well with others. You’re excited to build real-world skills in data engineering.
