About the Role The Sr Marketing Operations Specialist is a marketing professional who will play a vital role in supporting and optimizing our marketing technology stack, executing campaigns, maintaining data hygiene, and ensuring smooth operational alignment across the marketing function. As a key member of Engine's Marketing Operations team (under the Revenue Operations division), you will partner closely with marketing, sales, and the rest of the revenue operations team to drive exceptional execution of growth initiatives and pipeline growth. Responsibilities Campaign Operations: Set up, test, and deploy marketing campaigns, including email, webinars, and events using our marketing automation platform (Customer.io). This includes building and coding emails using HTML and Liquid code. Data Management: Maintain accuracy and cleanliness of marketing data within Salesforce and Customer.io; manage lead capture, enrichment workflows, and routing using Clay and Cargo. Technology Support: Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot our core marketing technology stack, including Customer.io (email automation), Salesforce (CRM), Clay and Cargo (data enrichment and activation), and Tray.io (workflow automation). Reporting & Analytics: Support monthly and ad hoc marketing performance reporting, campaign analysis, and dashboard management. Process Improvement: Document and help streamline processes for campaign operations, lead management, and attribution. Automation Management: Build, manage, and optimize automation workflows in Tray.io that support both PLG and sales-led motions, including lead routing, lifecycle triggers, and cross-system data syncs. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with growth, sales, and revenue operations to align on campaign execution, pipeline quality, and programs impact. Expectations Learn and master our marketing automation, CRM, and related marketing tech in your first 45 days. Consistently execute campaign setup, QA, and launch with a high level of accuracy and timeliness from a templatized approach ensuring repeatability and scale and speed Proactively surface data quality or process issues and collaborate on solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally, showing initiative and accountability in all communications and project work. Demonstrate ownership for assigned tasks and mature project management skills (task tracking, meeting deadlines). Outcome-focused: build quickly, iterate swiftly and be deliverable-driven. Speed is in our DNA so jumping right in and sharing insights, ideas and solutions is expected What Success Looks Like Within 45 days: Full working knowledge of Customer.io and Tray.io ; independently executing campaign builds and QA. Within 90 days: Owning at least one automation workflow end to end in Tray.io and maintaining clean, reliable data flows between Salesforce and Customer.io . Ongoing: Campaign launches are executed on time, with high accuracy and minimal rework; email modules are scalable and reusable. Ongoing: Proactively identifying process gaps and proposing solutions without being asked — a self-starter who drives improvements independently. Ongoing: Trusted cross-functional partner to growth, sales, and revenue operations with strong stakeholder feedback. Required Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, analytics, or a related field (or relevant internship/work experience). Demonstrated experience in marketing technology, data analytics, and digital marketing operations. Advanced proficiency in Liquid code for dynamic email content, including the ability to build and maintain scalable, reusable email modules. Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Customer.io (or similar marketing automation platforms); proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets. Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and organized; proven ability to take initiative and drive results independently. Ability to own projects end to end — from scoping and execution to delivery — with minimal oversight, in a lite-agile environment with regular check-ins and feedback. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaboration between technical and non-technical resources. Preferred Qualifications 4+ experience using marketing automation and CRMs (Customer.io, Salesforce, etc.). Experience in Sr. B2B SaaS or technology industry. Experience in a blended sales-led/PLG models is a plus. Experience in event operations is a plus. Experience with Sales Engagement Platforms is a plus. Experience with automation and workflow tools such as Tray.io, Zapier, or AI-assisted development tools like Cursor is a plus.
