Our Client is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support their Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health services across the West, Ipswich and North localities. This is a proactive review/assessment role aimed at improving service delivery and reducing OT waiting lists across the directorate. Locations Covered You’ll work flexibly across Suffolk’s Mental Health & LD/Autism localities, including: West: West Suffolk House, Bury St Edmunds Ipswich: Endeavour House, Ipswich North: Riverside, Lowestoft Hybrid working allows 2 days per week from home, with 2–3 days in office depending on service need. Role Overview This role focuses on high‑quality assessments and reviews to ensure safe, effective, and value‑for‑money support for adults with LD, autism, and mental health needs. The work is varied, fast‑paced, and ideal for an OT confident in social care practice and manual handling. Key Responsibilities Provide safe and timely delivery of front-line OT services across the directorate. Undertake proactive reviews and assessments, supporting both service improvement and waiting list reduction. Support triage processes and minimise duplication between health and social care functions. Work with external care providers to ensure safe, accurate moving and handling practices. Review and optimise care packages, ensuring best use of available equipment and cost-effective support. Review double-handed care packages to identify opportunities for Single-Handed Care where appropriate. Review waking-night care packages. Provide mutual aid to other OT teams when required. Deliver high-quality documentation, recommendations, and professional reasoning. Requirements HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist (Must have) Strong manual handling experience Solid background in adult social care Confident completing complex assessments, reviews, and moving & handling-related interventions Ability to travel across the West, Ipswich and North patches as needed Pay & Assignment Details £35 per hour Initial 6‑month contract Hybrid working with flexibility Supportive, well-structured MDT environment Referral Bonus Available!
