About the Role Brazilian Engineering is a VTEX initiative created to showcase the quality, talent, and potential of technology professionals from Brazil. We are looking for an Engineering professional with a strong commercial mindset to help build and represent this initiative. Reporting directly to VTEX's co-CEO, Mariano Gomide de Faria, you will identify opportunities, build strategic relationships, and turn ideas into initiatives that strengthen the presence and impact of Brazilian Engineering. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the commercial and strategic interface of the Brazilian Engineering initiative. Identifying and developing new opportunities, partnerships, and strategic initiatives. Planning, coordinating, and executing institutional presence and corporate events. Developing targeted marketing and commercial communication initiatives. Preparing commercial proposals, executive presentations, and strategic materials. Building and maintaining relationships with partners and other relevant stakeholders. Representing Brazilian Engineering in meetings, events, and external interactions. Working directly with the CEO to turn strategic priorities and opportunities into concrete actions. For this position, you are required to attend the São Paulo office four days a week, from Monday to Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. Frequent travel is expected. About the Team Brazilian Engineering is a CEO-sponsored initiative focused on increasing the visibility and recognition of Brazilian technology talent. This will be the first role fully dedicated to the initiative. You will work directly with VTEX's co-CEO and collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders depending on each project and opportunity. The role offers significant autonomy and exposure, combining business development, communication, relationship building, and hands-on execution. Who you are You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a strong academic track record and demonstrated excellence throughout your education or professional experience. You have up to 7 years of professional experience after graduation. You have previous experience in commercial roles, business development, marketing, partnerships, or similar areas. You combine technical understanding with a strong commercial and business mindset. You have excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills, with the ability to interact confidently in executive environments. You are comfortable creating presentations, proposals, and communications for different audiences. You are proactive, autonomous, and able to identify opportunities and take them from idea to execution. You are native in Portuguese and have fluent English. Experience planning or executing corporate events is a strong plus. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
