Who We Are Factorial Energy is a pioneering U.S.-based solid-state battery company driving the future of energy storage and electrification. Partnered with global leaders including Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, Hyundai, and Kia, Factorial is at the forefront of developing next-generation e-mobility platforms for commercial, defense, and consumer applications—spanning electric vehicles (EVs), drones, eVTOL aircraft, power tools, marine systems, robotics, and more. The company has achieved multiple industry firsts, including being the first to power a demonstration vehicle with a global OEM (Mercedes- Benz) which achieved over 1,200 km (749 mi) of range, and the first to earn UN 38.3 certification for automotive-sized lithium-metal solid-state cells, the first to deliver B-samples of automotive-sized solid-state batteries to major OEMs. The Opportunity: Factorial Energy is seeking a Senior / Staff Cell Finishing Equipment Engineer to join our Cheonan, South Korea site. The ideal candidate owns the full-cycle development, commissioning, customization, optimization, and mass production scaling of automatic final sealing, edge folding, OCV testing, and X-ray inspection equipment for our Silicon Power Cell pouch cell line. This person will lead new post-process equipment R&D, prototype debugging, pilot verification, and mass production iteration; deliver equipment technical upgrades, OEE & yield improvements; and build a standardized equipment management system. In this role, you will: Lead full-lifecycle development, commissioning and mass-production validation of automatic final sealing, folding, OCV and X-ray inspection equipment, iterate core process parameters and complete equipment adaptation for new product launch. Conduct equipment review, FAT/SAT acceptance and IQ/OQ/PQ qualification, and unify precision and quality control standards for post-process assembly and inspection procedures. Upgrade and retrofit mass-production final sealing, folding and inspection equipment to improve OEE, production yield and line capacity, and reduce manufacturing costs. Optimize sealing fixtures, folding structures, testing probes and machine vision parameters to stabilize production, eliminate poor sealing, folding offset, OCV testing deviation and X-ray detection errors, and support rapid multi-spec pouch cell changeover. Build complete standardized equipment management systems for post-process stations, including SOPs, maintenance schedules, calibration specifications, PFMEA, control plans, and equipment failure databases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Process, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance) and external vendors to advance new line startup, equipment development and technical renovation projects. Optimize post-process temperature & pressure closed-loop logic, servo positioning, electrical signal acquisition, and X-ray imaging algorithm to adapt silicon anode cell characteristics and eliminate assembly & inspection defects. Lead equipment technical transfer from lab/pilot EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production, identify equipment bottlenecks and drive sustained yield improvement. Adopt 8D, DOE, SPC, and root-cause analysis to resolve typical post-process abnormalities, drive cross-functional troubleshooting, and close CAPA for recurrent equipment failures. We are looking for people who: Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical automation, materials, chemical engineering, or related fields. 3+ years of experience in pouch cell final sealing, folding, OCV & X-ray equipment development, retrofit and production ramp-up. 2+ years of professional experience in post-process equipment structure and control logic; skilled in sealing temperature/pressure tuning, folding precision control, electrical testing calibration, and X-ray inspection parameter optimization. Capable of mechanical/electrical drawing reading and CAD/SolidWorks fixture design; familiar with servo motion, constant temperature-pressure control, precision testing and machine vision inspection systems. Proficient in DOE, PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D and root cause analysis; independent in equipment troubleshooting and technical optimization. Experienced in pouch cell post-process line NPI and mass production ramp-up projects. Equipped with cross-functional coordination, project management, and overseas vendor communication abilities; competent in on-site troubleshooting and English technical documentation. Proficient in English for technical document reading, global technical meetings, and technical report delivery. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
