About the Role As a Senior SDET Engineer , you’ll own the quality gate for an agentic codebase in which human engineers and AI coding agents work side by side. Embedded within a .Monks delivery team, you’ll collaborate with clients, product leaders, and engineers to define what “done and correct” means, validate functional correctness, and determine whether work is ready for production. You’ll also shape how tools such as Claude Code and Codex support quality throughout a fast-moving development lifecycle. Responsibilities Own acceptance testing, functional validation, regression coverage, and release-quality decisions for human- and AI-generated code Define clear acceptance criteria and quality standards in partnership with clients, product teams, and engineers Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks across web, API, and end-to-end workflows Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and agentic development workflows Review and validate code quality, system behavior, and production readiness Identify edge cases and failure modes that may be overlooked during development Investigate test and production failures, determine root causes, and drive issues through resolution Shift quality practices upstream to help engineers and AI agents produce more reliable work Communicate quality risks, expected behavior, and release recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders Contribute to the evolution of testing and evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted software delivery Other duties as assigned About You Qualifications & Skills 8+ years of experience in SDET, quality assurance, or test automation, including ownership of test strategy Strong programming skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, and/or Python Proficiency with modern testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Vitest, Jest, or pytest Demonstrated experience defining acceptance criteria and performing functional validation beyond unit-level CI checks Experience designing and maintaining automated tests for web, API, and end-to-end workflows Strong understanding of CI/CD tooling, pipelines, and quality-gating practices Ability to review, challenge, and gate work produced by both engineers and AI coding agents Strong systems thinking, with the ability to assess both implementation quality and functional correctness A skeptical, investigative approach to identifying edge cases, hidden assumptions, and failure modes Strong English communication skills and the ability to define expected behavior for clients, engineers, and AI agents Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile consulting environment Experience testing AI or LLM systems, non-deterministic outputs, or agentic workflows is a plus Performance, load, or security testing experience is a plus Experience with behavior-driven development and tools such as Gherkin is a plus Experience building evaluation, testing, or quality frameworks from scratch is a plus .Monks Technology Services does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, age, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status #LI-Remote #LI-BC1 About Monks Monks is the global, digital-first, data-driven, unitary operating brand of S4 Capital plc. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
