The era of pervasive AI has arrived. In this era, organizations will use generative AI to unlock hidden value in their data, accelerate processes, reduce costs, drive efficiency and innovation to fundamentally transform their businesses and operations at scale. SambaNova Suite™ is the first full-stack, generative AI platform, from chip to model, optimized for enterprise and government organizations. Powered by the intelligent SN40L chip, the SambaNova Suite is a fully integrated platform, delivered on-premises or in the cloud, combined with state-of-the-art open-source models that can be easily and securely fine-tuned using customer data for greater accuracy. Once adapted with customer data, customers retain model ownership in perpetuity, so they can turn generative AI into one of their most valuable assets. About the team The compiler team at SambaNova powers the RDU through a unique compilation strategy. By fusing kernels into dataflow graphs that run across the entire accelerator architecture, we avoid sequential kernel launches and eliminate the memory traffic that bottlenecks conventional hardware. This is a key differentiator and unlike any other product on the market. About the role As a Senior Principal Compiler Engineer you'll lead critical areas of our compiler including the IR and pass infrastructure, model lowering and partitioning, tensor tiling, memory management, and mapping operations onto the fabric. You'll operate in a tightly coupled environment, influencing hardware design to optimize performance, and bring the technical judgement, cross functional diplomacy, foresight, and low-level programming depth that integrated system design demands. You'll work with senior team members to ensure career growth and engagement, mentor and develop early career talent, actively recruit for the organization, and participate in interviews. Responsibilities Lead compiler engineering through ensuring standard methodologies, enterprise product insertion and process evolution. Work with peers, domain experts, developers, customers, and work across the enterprise seeking optimal solutions. Develop, integrate, and implement products. Provide support for proposals in key areas aligned with core team competencies. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with 5-10 years of industry experience. Additional Qualifications Deep theoretical understanding of compiler fundamentals. Experience building and deploying software products. Experience with one or more deep learning frameworks (i.e. TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus. Experience with common compiler development practices and methodologies. Excitement about high-performance systems engineering and performance debugging. An appreciation for process and developing cross-disciplinary collaboration. Preferred Qualifications Experience with MLIR. Familiarity with machine learning models and frameworks. Familiarity with accelerated computing. Exposure to dataflow architectures. Base Salary Range: Base Pay Range $180,000 — $240,000 USD Submission Guidelines Please note that in order to be considered an applicant for any position at SambaNova Systems, you must submit an application form for each position for which you believe you are qualified. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
