Position Summary Under the direction of the Director, the Advisor will play a critical role in executing CGC’s labor pilot, a two-year effort supporting the abilities of three green bank partners to identify pipelines of projects that meet financial parameters, while also advancing the priorities of local labor and community stakeholders. CGC and our green bank partners are committed to creating high quality 21st century jobs, strengthening local workforce development, and ensuring that the benefits of the clean energy economy reach every community. The CGC labor pilot would execute activities intended to increase labor and community engagement in the development of clean infrastructure projects in three targeted states, and to ensure those projects support job quality, workforce development, and community benefits objectives. The Advisor will help design the milestones for achieving the goals of the labor pilot and implement the day-to-day activities in one of the three targeted states. Key Responsibilities Advice on labor and community benefits opportunities : Work with green bank partner to identify opportunities to strengthen the evaluation of labor, workforce, and community benefits practices in existing investment diligence procedures. Support green bank partner in connecting existing workforce development programs to projects already in the pipeline. Draft resources for measuring projects’ job quality, workforce development, and community benefits performance to supplement existing practices. Organize labor and community stakeholder convenings: Lead the planning and execution of two convenings with labor and community stakeholders, developers, contractors, and/or green bank partner to help develop job quality, workforce development, and community benefits parameters that align with financing requirements for clean infrastructure projects. This involves building, strengthening, and maintaining relationships with labor and community stakeholders. Identify and advance pipeline of projects that meet parameters: Work with green bank partner and stakeholders to identify projects that meet job quality, workforce development, and community benefits parameters and financing requirements. This may involve engaging with developers and contractors, as well as green bank partner and/or CGC to submit and advance projects for financing consideration and to match projects with labor and community partners. Manage pilot strategy and execution: Define the milestones for achieving the goals of the labor pilot in a specific state and implement day-to-day activities. This may involve building a roadmap of key activities and target deadlines, tracking and reporting on budget and expenses, tracking and reporting on progress towards achieving milestones, elevating and resolving issues, and collecting and evaluating pilot performance data. Qualifications Education & Experience Required Master's degree and 6+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience Experience in planning and executing events Experience building coalitions with broad participation Experience working with labor and/or community organizations Understanding of labor, workforce development, and community benefits strategies Experience leading project management Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience organizing labor and community coalitions for clean infrastructure policies and/or projects Experience working with clean energy developers and contractors Understanding of labor, workforce development, and community benefits strategies and/or policies in the clean infrastructure sector Familiarity with financing models in clean infrastructure sector Compensation & Benefits This is a part-time position. The salary range for this role is $173,319 – $195,160. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and overall qualifications, and may vary from the stated range.
