About the Role: PubMatic is looking for engineers, who can design and implement highly scalable and low-latency DSP bidder features in our Activate platform. What You'll Do: Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) development on Linux/UNIX platforms. Proficient in leveraging Generative AI-assisted development tools to improve software development productivity, code quality, and engineering efficiency. Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes (K8s); experience with containerized environments is preferred. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and system programming concepts, including multithreading, multiprocessing, and memory management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Take end-to-end ownership of the software development lifecycle, including solution design, implementation, code reviews, automated testing, deployment, release management, production monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and continuous improvement. Design and develop clean, modular, maintainable, and scalable software following engineering best practices. Understand end-to-end product functionality and translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Design technical solutions and contribute to architecture and design discussions for new features and enhancements. Hands-on experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues while ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of services. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions. We'd Love for You to Have: 7-12 years in Golang under Linux/Unix platform. Use best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work. Demonstrated ability to self-direct and work independently. Demonstrate work ownership and focus to do deliver on time. Mentor, groom, and lead junior team members on technical front. Willing to go extra mile to achieve greater results. Work with teams to achieve desired goals. Demonstrate timely and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willing to take Agile scrum responsibilities in absence of Scrum Master. AI-Enabled Engineering Mindset: We value engineers who actively leverage Generative AI tools and IDEs (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf etc.) to accelerate development, improve code quality, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance documentation and debugging workflows. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
