As an international team, we combine innovation, collaboration, and ownership to deliver real impact for our customers, in a culture of continuous learning, mutual support, and shared success. SOFICO is expanding its Data & AI organisation to build the SOFICO AI Cloud and the Miles Enterprise Agentic Platform : an AI experience layer backed by a deterministic capability layer that keeps every business action controlled, predictable, and testable. From our Ghent office , you'll be the founding Cloud Ops engineer embedded directly in the Data & AI product team, owning the design, build, and operation of the AI Cloud platform: standardized, single-tenant environments that SOFICO runs in Azure, powering the Agentic Platform. What You'll do This is a hands-on role: you design it and you build it . Automated deployment is key from day one. Design, build, and operate the AI Cloud platform: standardized, single-tenant customer environments run by SOFICO in Azure. Build and maintain the automated "instance factory" for rapid, secure provisioning, upgrades, and lifecycle management of customer instances. Own Infrastructure-as-Code , CI/CD, and GitOps practices end to end, from design through daily operation. Drive platform standardization : handle customer-specific requirements through configuration, not custom infrastructure. Design secure, reliable connectivity between AI Cloud and the rest of Miles Enterprise , parts of which run on-premise or at customer sites. Own platform reliability, security, and observability : monitoring, alerting, incident response, and continuous improvement. Apply the technical standards and foundations for Cloud Ops for Miles Enterprise to the Data & AI team's artifacts. What You Bring Senior-level, hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Ops, DevOps, or SRE — comfortable owning a platform end to end, with help from our Cloud Ops specialists. Proven track record operating and scaling production SaaS or cloud-native platforms . Strong background automating infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operations at scale. Confident setting technical direction and standards solo today, with the appetite to mentor and grow a team once one exists. Knowledge & Skills Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and cloud-native platforms. CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based deployment automation. Solid Azure experience; exposure to Azure AI services is a strong plus . Observability: monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response. Operating multi-tenant / multi-customer platforms: tenant isolation, secrets management, fleet-wide upgrades. Secure connectivity between cloud and on-premise or customer-hosted environments — needed from day one to integrate with the rest of Miles Enterprise. Strong communication and stakeholder management; you'll work directly with product, AI engineering, and, eventually, the wider Miles Ops organisation. Plus: cloud cost optimization experience. What's in it for you… Competitive salary package. Meal allowance provided per working day. Fully covered private health insurance, so you can focus on what matters most. Hybrid working and flexible hours, giving you the freedom to shape your workday. A modern co-working space offering a comfortable working environment. A structured onboarding program from day one, with a dedicated coach to help you get up to speed and grow in your role. Regular opportunities to connect beyond day-to-day work — casual drinks, team activities, and company-wide events. Ready to build the secure and deterministic capabilities behind the next generation of mobility software? Join SOFICO and let's shape what's next together!

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
