Why SOFICO? At SOFICO, we’re shaping the future of mobility — and we’re doing it together. Our software, Miles, is a leading platform that enables companies worldwide to manage their leasing, fleet, and mobility operations in one integrated system. Every day, we help our customers work smarter, more efficiently, and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. Behind that impact is a close-knit, international team that values collaboration, ownership, and continuous growth. We move forward with ambition but stay grounded in a culture where people support each other and take pride in what they build. SOFICO is now expanding its Data & AI organisation to build the SOFICO AI Cloud , the platform underpinning the Miles Enterprise Agentic Platform. It combines agentic AI with deterministic workflows, allowing intelligent solutions to support users while keeping every business-critical action reliable, controlled and auditable. From our office in Zwijnaarde , we’re looking for a Senior Workflow Platform Engineer – Temporal who will build the durable workflow foundation behind our agentic solutions and ensure that long-running Miles processes continue reliably, even when systems or individual steps fail. What you’ll do... Design, build and operate durable workflows in Temporal that execute business-critical sagas across the Miles and SOFICO AI Cloud ecosystems. Make workflows resilient through idempotency, retries, back-off strategies, compensating transactions and reliable failure recovery. Ensure every execution is traceable and auditable by implementing strong workflow logging, observability, security and operational controls. Build reliable integrations between Temporal, the AI Cloud components and the Miles environments they control, across disparate topologies (SaaS, Private Cloud, On-Prem) . Define engineering standards and testing practices for durable execution while sharing your expertise with engineers across the Data & AI team. What you bring... Strong senior-level backend or distributed-systems engineering experience in production environments. Hands-on experience with a durable workflow or orchestration engine such as Temporal, Camunda, Conductor, Azure Durable Functions or a comparable technology. A solid understanding of saga patterns, compensating transactions, idempotency, retry mechanisms and event-driven architectures. Strong development skills in Java and/or Python, combined with experience testing and observing long-running, stateful workflows. Earn bonus points for... Production experience with Temporal. Experience with Java, Quarkus, Python or agentic frameworks such as LangGraph. Experience operating workflow platforms in enterprise, regulated, client-hosted or on-premise environments. What’s in it for you... Competitive salary package; Meal allowance provided per working day; Company car or mobility budget Fully covered private health insurance, so you can focus on what matters most; Hybrid working and flexible hours, giving you the freedom to shape your workday; A modern co-working space offering a comfortable working environment; From day one, you’ll be supported through a structured onboarding program, with guidance from a dedicated coach to help you get up to speed and grow in your role; And because strong teams go beyond day-to-day work, we regularly create opportunities to connect — from casual drinks to team activities and company-wide events. Ready to build the reliable workflow foundation behind the next generation of mobility software? Join SOFICO and let’s shape what’s next together!

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
