We are looking for a Middle DevOps Engineer (GCP) . Responsibilities: Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible . Cloud Platform Management: Administer and optimize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, including IAM roles, VPCs, network peering, and billing management. CI/CD & GitOps: Build, optimize, and maintain automated pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI . Implement GitOps workflows for infrastructure and application repositories. Containerization & Orchestration: Manage containerized applications running on Docker and Kubernetes . System Automation: Write efficient scripts ( Bash , Python , or PowerShell ) to automate operational routines, security patching, and system maintenance. Platform & Observability Integration: Integrate enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., performance and resource optimization tools like IBM Turbonomic) into existing GCP setups. Collaboration & Operations: Partner with cross-functional technical teams, participate in shift coverage/patching cycles, and troubleshoot infrastructure issues to meet SLA standards. Requirements & Qualifications: GCP Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, IAM, VPC networks, GKE, service accounts). IaC Expertise: Strong skills with Terraform (module design, state management) and Ansible for configuration management. CI/CD & Automation: Experience configuring Jenkins pipelines and GitLab CI/CD . Familiarity with GitOps principles. Scripting: Proficiency in Bash, Powershell and Python. Containers: Direct experience with Docker and basic to intermediate Kubernetes administration. Networking & Security: Practical understanding of cloud networking (subnets, routing, firewalls, peering) and cloud security best practices. Server Administration: Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat) and Windows Nice to have: Experience with cloud optimization and monitoring platforms (e.g., Turbonomic, Datadog, Prometheus, Crowdstrike). Knowledge of Windows Server administration / PowerShell scripting alongside Linux setups. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
